Stern's Move to Network TV: America's Got Howard
Wed, 08 Feb 2012 00:18:00 +0200
Howard Stern is replacing Piers Morgan on America's Got Talent, beginning Season 7. It's a brilliant move for the show and for Stern: AGT gets an honest judge who won't be a marshmallow, and Stern gets a chance to put himself in front of a national, prime time audience who hasn't seen too much of him since he switched over to satellite radio six years ago. Snooki Visits Opie & Anthony on SiriusXM
Thu, 02 Feb 2012 00:03:00 +0200
It's just a little slow in Radio right now. That's why I have time to report Jersey Shore's Snooki (Nicole Polizzi) visited The Opie & Anthony show on SIRIUS XM Wednesday. While on-the-air, she addressed Radar Online rumors that she is pregnant. (Photo: Nicole Polizzi with host Anthony, Credit: Maro Hagopian, Sirius XM Radio)
"Does that mean they're calling me fat?...Radar Online says the craziest things," responded Polizzi. Opie followed up: "So you're saying no to this, obviously?"
"No. And, obviously, they're calling me fat, so I hate you Radar," responded Snooki.
Opie & Anthony can be heard weekdays beginning at 6 a.m. ET on SiriusXM's "Opie & Anthony Channel" (XM 105, Sirius 206). For more information visit this page at SiriusXM.

Please Note: A Radio is Not a Weapon
Thu, 26 Jan 2012 17:55:00 +0200
Here's a weird story out of Granite City, Illinois, from bnd.com. Brett L. Nash was in federal court earlier this week. It seems he tried to recruit a buddy to help him rob an elderly man. The plan was to lure the senior citizen using his wife, carjack him, hold the guy hostage while he wrote checks, then kill him.
How was the killing to go down? Nash and his accomplice were going to put the victim in a Jacuzzi and electrocute him by throwing a radio into it. Then, they were going to add a cat to make it look like the feline had knocked the radio into the Jacuzzi.
Nash was arraigned on charges of "interference of commerce by threats of violence." I think it's obvious this guy should never be allowed near a radio or cat again.

Last Year's Most Listened to Artists - According to the Scrobbles
Wed, 25 Jan 2012 00:05:00 +0200
Before we really let go of last year, one more thing. If you were going to compile the top artists and bands from 2011, would you use sales data, radio airplay, or scrobbles? (Graphic Credit: © Last.fm)
If you're Last.fm, chances are you would answer scrobbles. Scrobbling is how Last.fm keeps track of what people are listening to on its personalized music service (and getting it from the horse's mouth is better than asking the guy who cleans out the stables.) I'm not even sure why that analogy popped into my head.
See the Top Artists of 2011 globally and in the U.S. based on real listeners and their scrobbles. Last Year's Most Listened to Artists - According to the Scrobbles originally appeared on About.com Radio on Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 at 00:05:31.Permalink | Comment | Email this...
